Last year, I acted as a volunteer media strategist for a wonderful organization that facilitates American Jews who want to relocate and settle in Israel. Known as Nefesh B’Nefesh, the organization’s mission is to revitalize North American Aliyah and to expand it for generations to come by removing the financial, professional, and logistical obstacles that are preventing many “would-be” Olim from fulfilling their dream.
The media work is actually handled by RuderFinn/Israel who is headed by one of the brightest and nicest PR pros I have ever met, Charley Levine. Charley is a native of San Antonio who moved to Israel 25 years ago. On Thursday, he and his wife, Shelly, who is one of the most colorful and warm women on the planet, (let alone real estate magnate) had dinner at the world famous MiTierra Restaurant to visit, kibbitz, talk about life, kids, work and of course, our mutual interest in promoting good and positive news from Israel.
I will be working again this year in a similar role helping to support and get a positive message out about the fact that there are thousands of Americans who want to make a new life for themselves in the State of Israel.
