Note: As a rule, I don’t write about or cover political or
policy issues, unless they are related to the technology or
telecommunications industry. In this case, I am making an exception
because of my close personal and business ties to the State of Israel.
The crisis situation in Israel has worsened with yesterday’s
incursion by Hezbollah into Northern Israel that has left eight Israeli
soldiers dead and two others taken hostage into Lebanon. Yesterday,
the Jewish Federation of San Antonio released a statement to the local
press and media.
Today at 1:00 p.m. CST, you may listen to Dr. Yossi Olmert,
brother of the Israeli Prime Minister, who will provide an analysis of
the expanding military and security challenges facing Israel. Last
summer, I was fortunate to meet with now-Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on
the VoIP Mission to Israel which our firm helped organize.
You may listen to the call by dialing 1-800-967-7141 or if you are a reader of this blog in the San Antonio area, you may come to the Jewish Federation of San Antonio office. We will meet in the President’s Conference Room to participate in the conference call at 1:00 p.m. You may also check with your local Jewish Federation around the U.S. to see if they are offering a similar program in your area. If not, you can always dial into the toll free number.
If you have an interest in attending, you are encouraged to join us either in person or via the dial in number.
