Last night I went to LA to see the legendary group, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Their Freedom of Speech concert took place at The Hollywood Bowl, where some 18,000 plus fans listened to the groups collective work, and the individuals’ solo material.
Being a huge Neil Young, this was a wonderful opportunity to listen to his latest solo work, Living with War. They may be in their early 60’s, but they are as young as they ever were in their heart and souls of making music and delivering timeless messages.
Going back 32 years ago when I first starting listening to the band, I never realized how timeless and purposeful their music would be.
Today with the situation in Iraq and what is transpiring in the Middle East, the group brings a sense of asking the "why" about war and the moral responsibility we have to realize that what is going on in the world today is not Vietnam. It’s a different type of war with different types of messages.
