Our client, CopperGate Communications today announced that it has opened a branch office in Taiwan to better serve the rapidly growing interest in its CopperStream chipset solution and the heavy design activity in that region.
“HomePNA 3 technology has become the technology of choice of a growing number of major service providers for deploying IP based broadband access and TV services,” said Rami Kopelman, VP of Business Development. “We are excited with the amount of interest and design activity we are seeing in Taiwan and China and have established the new office to better support our customers.”
The CopperStream chipset, which has been in production for two years, has been integrated into a rapidly growing number of residential gateways, set-top boxes, Fiber ONTs, Ethernet bridges, and other equipment for IPTV, home networking and multiple dwelling/multiple tenant unit (MDU/MTU) broadband access applications.
CopperGate is a member of the board of directors of the HomePNA Alliance, the industry organization committed to developing technology and equipment for networking entertainment data over existing phonelines and coax cables in the home. HomePNA 3 technology has been standardized by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), one of the world’s foremost standardization bodies.
