AudioCodes Moves Up the Telco / Cable Operator Food Chain

Over the last twelve years, I’ve been working off and on with AudioCodes. When I started with them, it was a 35 man company, VC funded and had a vision of leveraging IP communications in the telco world.  Now, publicly traded and a workforce of approximately 600 really smart people, they are continuing to provide new ways to leverage IP communications with its media gateway, server and processing technologies. Today, they’ve reached another milestone with the introduction of its Mediant™ 1000 MSBG (Multi-Service Business Gateway). Market research firm, In-Stat is predicting that the MSBG market will grow from $615 million in 2006 to $2.6B in 2011. AudioCodes is expanding its presence by entering markets such as the Enterprise business communications market segment.  AudioCodes introduction of the MSBG leverages on their Netrake acquisition investment as they are gaining market presence and delivering technical expertise in VoIP security. The MSBG will be targeting Service Providers offering hosted business telephony services (IP-Centrex) and VoIP connectivity (SIP trunking), Distributed Enterprises seeking branch-office solutions and an increased value in partnering with ISV, SI and OEMs. It’s basically a modular, all in one, networking device that combines a Media Gateway, enterprise class Session Border Controller, Data Router & Firewall, LAN Switch, WAN access, Stand Alone Survivability (SAS) and an on-board general purpose server.
