Castro Resigns, But Not Much Will Change. (At least for a good while)

Two years ago, I had the opportunity to spend four days in Cuba with Jewish Federation of San Antonio.

Doing what I do for a living (and for fun) I was especially aware of the media and the role that the media played during my brief stay there.

The headline in the article shown here, "Cada dia, cueremos mas," translates as, "Everyday, we want more."

The story was about a visit paid to Cuba by Hugo Chavez, President of Venezuela and how the people of Cuba wanted "more" of Fidel Castro’s leadership.

The resignation of Castro marks an important milestone in Cuba’s history, but I do suspect that until Mr. Catro passes on, there will be more of the same.

His brother, Raul, may continue to take charge, but I suspect the message from Castro will remain the same, and the people of Cuba will indeed get more of the same.
