Today, a client we served in their early start up days went public. Shopping.com had their stellar IPO. I was pleased to see their shares soaring more than 50% in today’s first day of trading. They sold 6.87 million shares raising $123 million.
Originally known as DealTime, we helped launch what was one of the first shopping comparison sites on the Internet at an annual event called DEMO, which is headed by Chris Shipley. Innovative companies and technologies such as Java, TiVo and the Palm Pilot were introduced at DEMO.
It’s always nice to see a company that we had a hand in shaping their early messaging and outreach go public providing an exit strategy for their investors.
